Building work continues to bring the Old School back into community and education use. Once refurbished, the project will provide much needed Community facilities for the Old Wolverton area, and a 3 bedroomed Guest House for visitors to the Wolverton area.

Wolverton has a range of fantastic independent businesses based in the Town Centre and beyond. The Business Directory gives an insight into the personal story behind many of these businesses, as well as giving essential contact information.

Planning permission was granted to Key Property Investments Ltd (the joint venture company owned by St. Modwen and Salhia) by Milton Keynes Council in 2016 for comprehensive redevelopment of Wolverton Railway Works. The proposals will see the rail operation concentrated in one part of the 36 acre site, with housing development proposed for the western end.

The Wolverton community have a long-held aspiration for the redevelopment of the Agora Centre in the heart of Wolverton Town Centre. Find out more about the planning history of the site, and the current developer interest.

Future Wolverton’s sister organisation, Wolverton Community Energy, supplies renewable energy to community and commercial buildings across Milton Keynes.

Agora sold for demolition and redevelopment

After many years of false starts and missed opportunities the Agora is finally going to be demolished and redeveloped. TOWN, a London-based developer who have been interested in the site for over 6 years, have joined forces with Swedish builder Trivselhus, to propose a £25 million Town Centre regeneration scheme.

Future Wolverton was responsible for delivering the Wolverton Town Centre Neighbourhood Plan on behalf of Wolverton & Greenleys Town Council.

We have a role in ensuring that the objectives and policies of the Neighbourhood Plan are realised, and are involved in commenting on planning applications which impact on the delivery of the Plan.

As a not for profit enterprise, Future Wolverton is concerned with the development of the local economy. We want to promote local businesses of all types, and encourage mutually beneficial local trade and local shopping.

The redevelopment of the Agora will kick-start a change in the attractiveness of Wolverton Town Centre, and we hope to work with local businesses to make the most of the opportunities this will bring.

Future Wolverton is committed to the sustainable development of Wolverton, and has done considerable work in the past on improving the energy efficiency of the Victorian housing stock.

Our sister organisation – Wolverton Community Energy – was established as a result of this work, and we work closely together to develop community owned renewable energy in Wolverton and across Milton Keynes.

The Old School is a Grade 2 listed building on Old Wolverton Road which was previously owned by The Radcliffe Trust.

Future Wolverton purchased the building in April 2017, and once building works are complete the building will re-open as a Community Centre and 3- bedroomed guest house, run in conjunction with Slated Row School.

As a Community Benefit Society, Future Wolverton is owned and run by it’s members. It only costs £1 to join and by doing so you will be demonstrating your support for the Future Wolverton Vision. As a member you can also have a say on the future direction of the organisation, and the projects we work on.
