A well attended Public Meeting was held on the 21st October to discuss the possibility of establishing a new community centre in the West End of Wolverton.
The Old School on Old Wolverton Road is a Grade 2 listed building owned by The Radcliffe Trust, which has been on a long lease to Holy Trinity Parochial Church Council (PCC) since 1974.
The building was closed to community use in 2003/4 due to concerns over safety, but discussions held in 2012 with the owners, community representatives and Holy Trinity PCC led to Future Wolverton carrying out feasibility work to look at refurbishing and opening the building for community use.
Architects working on the project showed four possible options which are being considered, and initial business planning work was also discussed.
The final pre-feasibility report will be discussed by the Future Wolverton Board before the end of the year, and a decision made as to whether to proceed to the next stage of the work.
